May Favourites

We're super sorry that this post is a tad late and we're now in the middle of June, but we wanted to share the things we were loving throughout May! As usual all of the titles (or as many as we could get) are links to the webpages :)

Beauty

"Velvet Teddy" Lipstick
I've been loving Velvet Teddy from M.A.C. recently and wearing it most days as I personally think it goes well with the majority of my outfits. I also love that it's matte as then it doesn't wear too much throughout the day, which is great when I'm out at college because I never remember to re-apply my lipstick! It's also great for when I go out for meals because of how well it lasts. I find that Velvet Teddy is a great lipstick to wear with my eye look that I've been wearing a lot recently too, making them a great combination.

"Quarry" Eyeshadow
Quarry from M.A.C. has been my favourite eyeshadow at the moment, I love the 'soft muted plum brown' colour as I think it compliments my blue eyes really well. I also love the kind of 90's look that Quarry can create with some of my other shadows from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette which I also love! Quarry is also a great eyeshadow as you can either slightly apply it for a subtle look or apply it to make it quite noticeable. Another great thing about Quarry is that it's a matte eyeshadow, as I've been loving a matte eye look for quite a while now.

Liz Earle Face Mask
The Liz Earle Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask is my favourite skincare product at the moment, after leaving the mask on my face for around 10-15 minutes it makes my skin feel super soft, hydrated and moisturised. My skin feels and looks so much better after using this face mask, which I use roughly every few days, alternating it with my other Liz Earle face mask - Brightening Treatment Mask which is also a fantastic skincare product! I've also had a 50ml tube of the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask since Christmas and still have plenty left!

Fashion

Slip-On Patent Pumps
I purchased these pumps a few weeks ago from Matalan after needing to replace my old ones, which I loved and wore out. These pumps are literally the comfiest shoes I've ever owned, they also go well with pretty much everything I own making them perfect for when I can't decide what shoes to wear!

Floral Kimono
I purchased this kimono from Matalan a few weeks ago and despite only wearing it once I think it's gorgeous. The colours are a lovely combination and it is quite long which makes it a bit different to other kimonos out there at the moment. It can be worn dressed up with some heels and a statement necklace or dressed down with some jeans and sandals. A lovely addition to anyone's wardrobe.

TV & Music

Orange Is The New Black
I had heard so many good things about the TV show as a lot of my friends watch it, so whilst procrastinating from my physics essay I decided to start watching it. I am so glad that I decided to start watching it as it is such a funny programme! For anybody who hasn't watched it, the story is based on the real life events of  Piper Chapman and her time in prison. If you haven't watched it go and check it out, it's on Netflix!

White Collar
I'd wanted to watch White Collar for a while before I did but I never got round to watching it, until the Easter holidays, where I watched all 4 seasons available on Netflix in about 2 weeks! I've since watched season 5 and just need to finish season 6, but I love the show so much! I love the concept of the show, as well as loving crime drama shows, especially where you see how they figure it out and find the criminal, Matt Bomer also makes watching the show more enjoyable!

Pushing Daisies
I watched Pushing Daisies when it was on TV way back in 2007 -2009, but I decided to re-watch both seasons because it'd been that long and I purely couldn't remember much of it and I'm so glad I re-watched them! I love the concept of this show and how there's something different every episode, as it keeps it very interesting! Another thing I like about Pushing Daisies is that it's a bright and colourful show, which for some reason I love!

Years & Years
This has been a band which we have followed pretty much since the beginning and their music just keeps getting better and better. We have seen them live twice now and I can honestly say that they are absolutely amazing live! They also have their first album coming out in July (which I have of course pre-ordered!) and they are also doing a tour this autumn. If you have never heard of them then go on YouTube and have a listen to them...I promise they will not disappoint.

What were your favourites in May?
